This is a very lowfi recording of a xerox workcentre 7345 in a very small room being switched on from standby and initializing, including some button presses with beeps, mechanical movement sounds and motors. The bitrate is only 13 kbit/s and the resulting audio quality not very good, but the file size is really small. Maybe audio level needs normalizing, though.

Here are the highlights from a mri machine (a ge signa, i believe). Probably useful for robot sounds. You'll also note the cooling system in there as well. These things dissipate a huge amount of energy and are quite interesting. The actual sounds come from vibration of the coils as the machine runs through it's patterns.

When my band was allowed to record after-hours in an industrial space in west oakland, i took the opportunity to show up early to record some of the machines in action. This is a recording of an industrial embroidery machine as it sews on logos to eight sweatshirts. Unfortunately my recording of the glass etching machine in another part of the building didn't turn out as useful--it sounded pretty crazy. Html. Flstudio 3x osc noise was used as a hissing sound similar to venting of high pressure steam. The hiss is granulated to simulate a slight sputtering effect. As the machine tempo increases, lf rumble is introduced to evoke the notion of a rolling load. The rumble dies away as the machine slows down. 100% synthesised sound. No audio sample is present in this recording.
